This room, accessible from an oak-panelled antechamber, was part of Ludwig II’s residential rooms and work environments. Surprisingly, as early as 1885, the antechamber was equipped with a system of electric bells, an innovation for the time, which allowed the king to call the servants from any room.
The dining room is adorned with wall paintings illustrating scenes with Wolfram von Eschenbach and other singers, framed by oak panels with relief carvings. In the center of the room, on the table, is a marble and gilded bronze stand depicting Siegfried’s battle with the dragon, a work of art in itself.
As in all the king’s residential rooms, the fabrics are worked with extreme care In the dining room, these are in red silk with gold embroidery and trimmings, creating an atmosphere of luxury and royalty.
